Robbie Fowler following Beckham to MLS?
The Daily Mail reported that former Liverpool player, Robbie Fowler, may be following Beckham to America. Fowler is rumored to be joining the New England Revolution, which coach Steve Nicol has claimed he has talked with former Liverpool team-mate Robbie Fowler about a move to MLS.
Fowler's contract at Anfield ends in the summer and with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez still pursuing another striker after signing Andriy Voronin from Bayer Leverkusen (Germany), Fowler appears unlikely to be offered a new deal.

Becks will act in Holywood
He denied that his move to L.A. was motivated by a bid to make it in the movies, but it seems Beckham has signed up to have a cameo in a new World War I film. The flick tells the story of German and British soldiers who stop fighting on Christmas Day to "fight" on the football pitch.
'Beckham has agreed to appear as a British soldier in the football scenes,' says the Sunday Mirror.
'Although he is moving to LA, he has no great aspirations to become a major movie actor. But he loves making cameo appearances as a footballer.'
Until then we can see him in Goal 2

David Beckham to get $28 million base salary

NorthJersey.com
David Beckham's playing contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy is worth about $27.5 million in base salary over five seasons, according to a person familiar with Major League Soccer agreements.
It's a fraction of the $250 million income figure floated for the English star when he agreed to the deal last month.
Beckham's average base salary of about $5.5 million was disclosed Friday by a person who had been briefed on the deal and who spoke on condition of anonymity because those details had not been announced.
Simon Oliveira, Beckham's spokesman, would not confirm the figure but didn't dispute it.
"That is only one element to his salary and package, which had to be disclosed in accordance with MLS guidelines," Oliveira said.
AEG, the company that runs the Galaxy, trumpeted a far higher figure when Beckham's agreement was announced last month.
The deal to bring Beckham to America is thought to be the biggest in sporting history, with industry experts estimating the worth to the player in excess of $250 million," AEG's news release said.
Beckham's contract, according to several people familiar with the details, is a complex and probably unique arrangement that gives the 31-year-old midfielder a percentage of club sponsorship, merchandizing and uniform sales contracts. Promotional arrangements also are included.
Several weeks after the announcement, Los Angeles said it had sold more than 5,000 additional season tickets. The team plans to redesign its uniform and is examining sponsorship offers for advertising on the jerseys.
Beckham easily will be MLS' highest-paid player. According to figures published by The Washington Post last April, Chivas USA's Juan Francisco Palencia was tops last season at $1.36 million -- a $692,308 salary and about $668,000 in bonuses. The Galaxy's Landon Donovan was second at $900,000, followed by Kansas City's Eddie Johnson at $875,000, the Post reported.

Higuain saves Real
Argentinan Gonzalo Higuain scored his first goal for Real Madrid (playing away) to earn a point in a 1-1 draw in Madrid´s derby. Beckham didn´t play (due to suspension).
Atletico had taken a deserved early lead when captain Fernando Torres scored his first-ever competitive goal against Real.
Higuain, who was signed from River Plate last January helped maintain Real's streak of not having lost to Atletico for seven seasons. The Argentine teenager picked up a through ball from Antonio Cassano and sent the ball past goalkeeper Leo Franco after 62 minutes.
Visitors had to play the final eight minutes with a man less following the dismissal of Fabio Cannavaro, but Atletico could still not fashion a winner.

Gravesen could joined David Beckham next season in Los Angeles Galaxy.

Gravesen (former Beckham's team mate in Real Madrid) played only 16 minutes in Tuesday's 0-0 draw against A.C. Milan in the Champions League. Gordon Strachan gave his place to the 19-year-old Dutchman, Evander Sno, with the task of trying to shadow Kaka.
Galaxy head coach, Frank Yallop, admitted the possibility of the deal:

BECKHAM COULD WIN ENGLAND RECALL

Beckham was dropped by new manager, Steve McLaren, following last year's World Cup and has so far not been used in the Euro 2008 qualifying matches.
"My ambition has never changed since the age of 13, even younger. I always wanted to play for my country and I will always be available whether I'm in Spain for the next four months, or whether I'm in LA," said Beckham yesterday.
Beckham, who has 94 caps, has won over Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello, who had vowed never to call him again when the midfielder decided to join LA Galaxy. And McClaren hinted that he too could be ready to change his mind after.
"It gives me a problem, one of the problems you welcome. He's being professional and performing well for his club -- obviously that's a problem I would rather have than not have. It's interesting," McClaren told Sky Sports News.
"The reaction from every adversity he's ever gone through in his career, he's always bounced back and been professional and got on with his job."
"It's pleasing to see that a month ago he would never play for Real Madrid again and there he is starring in a game against Bayern Munich and being man of the match."
Beckham's upturn in form has led to a clamour for his recall to the national team and he could be considered for next month's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Andorra.

Real Madrid 3 Bayern Munich 2: Beckham the architect of success
Bayern Munich (4-4-2): Khan; Sagnol, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lahm; Schweinsteiger (Scholl, 79), Hargreaves, Van Bommel, Demichelis (Salihamidzic, 46); Podolski (Pizarro, 61), Makaay. Substitutes not used: Rensing, Gorlitz, Santa Cruz, Ottl.
Referee: F de Bleeckere (Belgium).
There were chants of "Beckham! Beckham!" from Real Madrid crowd. "Beckham played very well, he was very important," said coach Fabio Capello. "When he has been in the side he has always played at a high level. He created two tonight and [scored] one the other night and I recognise that."
Beckham started on the right after toying with the idea of playing him in the centre. On 10 minutes Real were ahead. Beckham found Van Nistelrooy and his pass sent Raul clear. His first shot was saved by Oliver Khan but his second kick got in.
On 23 minutes Bayern were level. Willy Sagnol floated a free-kick to the back post, and jumping between two defenders, Lucio looped a header over Casillas.
After that Real Madrid scored again. Higuain won a corner and from Beckham's kick the defender Ivan Helguera headed towards goal with Raul, on the line, touching the ball home. Eleven minutes before half-time it was three Beckham's free-kick was flicked on by Helguera and Van Nistelrooy volleyed in.
Beckham started the second half as he had finished the first, hitting a 35-yard pass to Higuain, whose shot was smothered by Khan. The keeper then saved Beckham's free-kick.
Real very tired, allowed Bayern to score what could be a vital second away goal. Mark van Bommel beat Casillas in the 88th minute.
As he left the pitch Van Bommel, former Barcelona player, made obscene gestures towards the home fans. "I have got nothing against the Real fans," he said, "only against some of the players." He didn't say which players.

HIS LIFE (1): Childhood and early career
David had trials with his local club, Leyton Orient, and attended Tottenham Hotspur's, which was the first club he played for, school of excellence. He also attended Bradenton Preparatory Academy, but signed schoolboy forms at Manchester United on his fourteenth birthday.
He was part of an exceptionally talented group of young players at the club who guided the club to win the FA Youth Cup in May 1992. Beckham scored in the second leg of the final against Crystal Palace. He made his first appearance for United's first-team that year, as a substitute in a League Cup match against Brighton & Hove Albion, and signed his first professional contract shortly afterwards.
He went on loan to Preston North End -in the 1994–95 season- to get some experience, then made his first Premier League appearance for Manchester United on 2 April 1995, against Leeds United.

At the begining of 2007 we got this piece of news: Beckham will leave
Real Madrid after four seasons. Beckham will join LA Galaxy at the end
of the season.
The former England captain will sign a five-year deal, worth 250 million euros.

and people of Madrid who have made my family and I feel so welcome in
my time here, making this an extremely difficult decision to make".
"I have enjoyed my time in Spain enormously and I am extremely
grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play for such a
great team and their amazing fans"".
